FLIGHT FROM THE DOLLAR ?

Today's quotations for sterling exchange are exceedingly interesting. On October 16 last the pound was worth-but 4.41 dollars; today Americans and others are eager to buy it at 4.87 dollars. Does this mean another flight' from the1 dollar? If it does then the flight is further away today than it was before the War. Bankers in the United; States have been issuing warnings against inflation which is but another way of depreciating the dollar; moreover, they appear to be at one in resisting any movement of the kind. These movements between dollar and sterling, to say nothing of those between dollar and the currencies of Continental countries on gold, are pregnant with meaning. But of what? .The whole business and financial world waits for the answer.
