MUSSOLINI'S ORDER

LEADERS OF FASCIST PARTY

RUSH TO MATRIMONY

OniteiJ Pres» Association— By Electric Tele-

crtph—Copyright. (Received November 6, noon.)

KOME,> November 5,

"Marry or resign" is Signor Mussolini's order to all bachelors holding executive positions in the Fascist Party. Mussolini has always bcon insistent that party leaders should follow .his own example in raising a largo, family, and he even persuaded some of his reluctant Cabinet members to marry. The new order is doubtless in pursuance1 of the hint. The Fascist Party lists now being prepared for seats in the municipalities, the Legislative Assembly, and the Senate exclude bachelors, ntftny, of whom in the present Parliament are hurriedly seeking brides in the hope of winning the Duce's favour. It will be- recalled that Signor Mnssolini's first marriage "drive," made through the bachelor tax, devoted to maternity hospitals, proved such, a crushing burden that many bachelors sought refuge in matrimony. . Signor Mussolini has nominated four generals and four admirals to . the Senate, removing them from the active list, thus speeding up promotion for juniors.
