/SYNOPSIS OF LAST 48 HOURS.

Since Saturday a complicated depression has been situated over the Dominion, and the weather has, for the most part, been unsettled, dull, and misty with widespread rain and heavy falls at places. Modorate to fresh northeast winds prevailed generally on Saturday, but during Saturday night and Sunday morning a temporary change to a mild southerly took place, the directions! later on Sunday becoming variable. This morning it was still gener-ally-unsettled with rain falling in many places. Strong westerly winds were Slowing in the far north, and southerlles in the southern half of the South Island.
