On November 5, 1883, .the s.s. British Kin" .(Captain Stuart) sailed from Plymouth, England, for New Zealand, and arrived at Wellington cither on December 21 or 22 oE that year. One of the original passengers •(K K. Young, 317 Dominion Road, Auckland) is endeavouring to get in touch with any surviving shipmates with the view of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the arrival, and persons interested are asked to communicate with him. -
"Right or Wrong" refers to a recent address by Archbishop Averill in which he asked: "Can we see any • clear-cut sense of right or wrong?" In the same issue (states the correspondent) it was reported that" 1463 teachers were out of work and that next year the number would be 2000. In view of these facts," does the Archbishop consider it right that superannuated teachers should be employed in church, schools?
Critical comments' on the recent air pageant at Nelson are made bs' a correspondent, H. McLean. The writer concedes that some of the exhibitions were good, but asks if, imperfect weather; more could not have beendone to entertain the big crowd; The arrangements for fixing the order of passenger flights in the "Waco"' aeroplane are also criticised.
