SCOW SINKS

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, November 5. The scow Maggie, owned by Mr. J. J. Craig, sank in Shoal Bay during the night. None of the crew was on board at the time.

The scow, which was carrying a load Of boulders, put into the bay for shelter. When the crew left in tho afternoon the vessel showed no signs of leaking, but this morning it was found that she had sunk. At high tide her deck was several feet under water.

It is not anticipated that any difficulty will be experienced in raising the scow at low tide once the deck cargo has been lifted. A wooden vessel of 20 tons, the Maggie is 63ft long.
