MARTINBOROUCH PRICES

Wright, Stepheuson, and Co., Ltd., held their annual cattle fair at Martinborough lon Thursday, when prices in advance of I venders' expectations were realised. The bulk of the entries consisted of grown cattle, the majority of which were well bred and in good condition. Bidding was free throughout, and practically a total clearance was effected as follows:— Account W. J. Martin, 16 fat cows, £3 15s: 46 fat forward cows, £3 3s; threeyear steers, £4 6s. Account. Hon. A. D. McLeod, 33 three-year bullocks, £5; three-year steers, £4 15s. Account H. Spooner, 5 fat bullocks, £6 16s; 18 four-year, bullocks, £5 2s. Account J. j Martin, 4 fat P.A. heifers, .£4 4s; 41 Jersey heifers, £3 4s. Account G. W. B. Hardy, 3 fat .cows, £3. Account E. T. Fuller, fat heifers, £4(95; yearling steers, £2 3s. Account T. A. Dellar, 5 P.A. heifers (fat), £4 6s. Account G. Gilbert, 2 fat cows, £3 15s; 22 bullocks, £4 4s. Account P. F. Broderrick, fat cows, £3 ss.' Account W. H. Speedy, three-year steers, £4. Account Radnor and Thomas, three-year steers, £4 7s. Account F. E. Perry, three-year steers, £4; empty cows, £2. Account S. J. Oates, 44 three-year P.A. steers, £4 10s. Account J. Cooper Estate, £2 4s. VALUES AT FORDELL. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., offered another yarding of good, well-bred cattle and a small yarding of hoggets and a few fat sheep at their Fordell sale on Thursday. Cattle maintained their value and a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The hog-, gets: didirnot meet the demand venders expected under the hammer, but were all sold later by private treaty. Prices were:—Two-year P.A. heifers, £3 5s to £3 17s; 3-year Hereford-P.A. heifers, £3 to •£3 16s; M.T., Hereford, P.A., and good Shorthorn cows, £3 Is to £3 7s; bullocks, £4; fat cows, £3 18s to £4 ss; Hereford and P.A. cows in calf, £3 15s; 2-year Hereford steers, £2 16s; ewe hoggets, 16s 3d to 20s 6d; wether hoggets, 14s 3d to 20s fid; wethers," 15s to 20s; fat ewes, 13s; fat hoggets, 19s.
