The weather is expected to be fair to fine practically generally, with mild and warm temperatures, according to the forecast issued at noon today. Winds will probably bo variable, with easterlies to northerlics prevailing fioin, Canterbury northwards, strong in tho far north, but otherwise moderate. Modcrato bat freshening north-west-j erlics arc expected over1 tho southern districts. 1 Tho cyclone to the northwards, referred to yesterday, proved a very slight ono and passed rapidly ' eastward during tho .night. It was responsible for scattered rain in tho North Island and for moderate to fresh northeasterly winds. The falls were mostly light, Wunganui with 30 points reporting the largest amount. By this- morning, however, the anticyclone had taken charge and the weather was again fine over tho greater part of the Dominion. ■ At Auckland misty showers fell yesterday morning and the day was mostly wet, • with! a moderate north-easterly wind prevailing. .Wellington experienced dull, threatening weather, although only a little light rain fell. During the day the wind was light between north-east and north, and it was calm throughout the night. It.was fine and clear in Christchuvch, but with a keen east wind.
