United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, This Day. Of 10,400 bales offered at the Melbourne wool sale, 99 per cent, was cleared. The market is very strong at firmer rates. New records for the season were established. Greasy merino sold to 23d per lb, scoured to 31d per Ib. SYDNEY WOOL MARKET United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. * SYDNEY, October 30. The Sydney wool sales were resumed today under the keenest competition from all sections. The market showed an advance of from TVs to 10 per cent, on the closing rates of the previous Sydney series. Good free wools revealed the full extent of the advance; comebacks and crossbreds were in keen request, and splendid clearances were effected. Greasy merino fleece made 25% d, which is the top price of the season here, obtained for five bales from Barraba. The offerings totalled 11,666 bales, 'of which 11,320 were sold at auction, also 2619 were sold privately. ' \ The roster for this series of sales comprised 198,128 bales. For yesterday's offering a catalogue of 12,000 bales had beea arranged. Sellers were: Country Producers Selling Co., Ltd., 3628; Winchcombe. Carson, 7414; Australian Wool Brokers and' Produce Co., 958 bales. Offerings for today's sale will be 12,840 bales.
