PIECEWORK PROTEST
At a general meeting of the Johusonville and Makara Relief Workers' Union* held on October 2G, a resolution was carried "That this meeting emphatically protests against the introduction of piecework, as it is considered to be a move to lower the standard rates of pay, and that the monetary benefit enn be procured under tho system that is to be adopted." The meeting, in passing the above resolution, endorsed the action of the executive, who protested against tho introduction of piecework at the last monthly meeting of the local body.
