WEATHER MOSTLY MILD

The weather will be cloudy, overcast, and mild according to the forecast issued, at iioon today. Rain is expected generally in districts with a westerly aspect, extending ,to scattered parts of the eastern districts. Moderate to strong northerly winds are expected, reaching gale force in places. Barometers have fallou everywhere in New Zealand, and winds have gradually veered to the north-west or north and have increased | iii force. Tho weather yesterday was fine in most places, but this morning there was a great increase in cloud and scattered rain commenced in ' western districts. Mild temperatures prevailed. Auckland had fine and clear weather yesterday with a light south-westerly breeze. This morning it was dull and misty, and the wind had turned to- the north-west. A line sunny day was experienced yesterday at Wellington, but this morning the sky gradually .became, overcast and there were a few misty showers. A fresh northerly wind blew yesterday, and during the night it freshened considerably. The maximum gust of 48 miles per hour blew about 8 p.m. Curistchurch had a warm sunny day yesterday, the maximum temperature being 63 degrees. In the afternoon it became cloudy, and the night was also mild aivd cloudy. Tho wind has been from the east. Dunedin had fine sunny weather with light northerly winds.
