UPPER HUTT BOROUGH

The Mayor (Mr. A. J. McCurdy) presided at last evening ?s meeting of the Upper Hutt Borough Council. A request from residents, that, an extra street light should be installed in Kimu Street, was referred to a committee. The Town Clerk (Mr. R. C. Major) reported that several notices had,been issued giving owners fourteen days in which to clear gorse and broom from their sections. Three building permits,, totalling £1149, were issued during October, and the amount collected in rates during the month was £395 6s 2d.
