NOT GOING TO RICCARTON
The Takanini-trained horses Speedmint and Gay Sheila, who figure among the acceptors for the New Zealand Cup and Stewards' Handicap respectively, will not make the trip to Riccarton, says a northern writer. Instead they will remain at home to compete at Ellerslie, where Speedmint is engaged in the Mitchelson Gup and Gay Sheila in the Great Northern Guineas. ■ '
