JOCKEY OFF TO INDIA
Harold Jones, the Melbourne jockey, lias decided to try" his. luck in India,. where he will be associated with J. Muhrb, 'aj former Sydney jockey,' in the establishment of Mr. Higgins, one of the leading owners in Bombay. Among the more important successes scored by Jones in Australia were victories on Vaals in the A.J.C. Epsom Handicap and on Sir Andrew in the Metropolitan. He won the V.R.C. Cantala Stakes twice, on Vaals and Denis Boy; the V.A.T.C.. Futurity Stakes twice, on Amounia and Waranton; and achieved something of a record by winning three St. Leger races in one year on Belgamba. He also won the V.R.C. St. Leger on Epilogue. He rode Silvius to victory in the Moonee Valley Gold Cup of 1927, and in most of the weight-for-age races won by the imported Silvern horse.
