For example—no assistant in Woolworths receives less than £1 per week and furthermore 216 female employees (104 Seniors and 112 Juniors) out of a total of 333 receive above Award rates. We have by concessions and privileges , . bettered the working conditions of our Staff generally. For example last year every Woolworth assistant was granted one extra week's holiday on full pay. Our advertisement for shop assistants appears elsewhere in this issue. In accordance with the Company's policy we are engaging the staff from the residents of the town in which our Store operates. This means that if, for any reason, an article purchased does not give satisfaction, complete and absolute, the purchase money will be refunded without question—cheerfully. ; Goods are openly displayed and priced if or easy comparison. You may walk through any Woolworth Store and not be asked to buy. Cash registers are installed at every counter to ensure quick service, GENERAL : During our trading in New Zealand we have been able to pass on many savings made possible by v mass buying and modern merchandising.
