(Eeccived October 25, 9 a.m.)" PABIS, October 24. ' The proposal which incensed the taximen . and motorists of Paris, was the increase in the tax on petrol by 9d a gallon, making it 2s altogether. The police were summoned last night to. suppress a demonstration in tho suburb of Asnieres, where many taximen live. a number of them for overman hour drove in a. procession at high speed round the streets, sounding their horns unmercifully. . . ' ~.
