AEROPLANE DAMAGED
MEN NOT HURT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TATJKANGA, This Day. A Moth aeroplane, piloted, by Mr. E. Firth, of the Auckland Aero Club, and carrying as a passenger Mr. A. L. Harkness, of Te Kauwhata, •turned over in the water near Mount Maunganui beach, Taurapga, yesterday afternoon. When the aeroplane was taking off a sharp gust of wind tipped one wing upward, the other wing touching the water, and the impact turned the machine upside down. The men managed to scramble out with a few superficial cuts, but the aeroplane was damaged. Flight-Lieutenant Lett and Mr. North, ground engineer of the Auckland Aero Club, arrived this morning to inspect the machine.
