At Ellerslie he won the Mitche]son Cup on Royal Artist, deadheated for first in the Welcome Stakes, on Princess Doi^een, and also won a double on Carfex. At Kiccarton he found it difficult to obtaiu good rides on the final days, but he brought Hin-lingham home a winner in the Avon Handicap, and he rode seconds on Hnrlingham and Sweet Agnes on the last day.
