OTHER CLAIMS HEARD
Tie ease heard yesterday in which Neil McTaggart, a Johnsonville labourer; sued the .Crown for compensation for the loss of an eyo while working on the Waitaki hydro-eleetrie scheme was adjourned pending the hearing of further evidonce in Timaru. This afternoon the Court is hearing the claim of Walter Chick, a storeman, for whom Mr. 0. C. Mazengarb appears, against Davidson and Co.,' represented by Mr. A, G. Jorgensen. The plaintiff alleges that in Septembei1 last year he was engaged in lifting .bags of hides t'or the defendant company when he Btrained his back, which injury has resulted in disablement. The defence is a general denial, of tho plaintiff's allegations.
