FATALLY BURNED
ELDERLY MAORI WOMAN
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) MARTON, This Day. In a fire in a dwelling-house at Onepuhi early on Monday morning an elderly Maori woman uamea Matehaere Te Aomarama Pine,' known as Mrs. Sambo, wag fatally burned. Apparently Bhe was sleeping in an armchair before the fireplace and a spark must have fallen on a cushion, the woman being suffocated. The house was completely destroyed. An open verdict was returned at the inquest.
