FIRST OLD BOYS' DAY
The ftongotai College Old Boys' Association held its first annual Old Boys' Day yesterday. Mr. F. M. Kenner,' principal of the college, welcomed the old boys on behalf of the staff and pupils. Mr. T. G. Messer, president of the Old Boysf Association, replied expressing the hope that the day would be the forerunner of many more. An attractive sports programme, comprising tennis, cricket, athletics, and shooting, was arranged, old boys' teams entering into competition with school teams. The following were the results: — Tennis.—School won, 4-2. . . Shooting.—Masters, 445; present boys, 428 (A); present boys; 456 (B); old boys, 431.(A); old boys, 408 (B); best shot, 68, 75, I. Marshall. Athletics.—The relay race for the baton presented by the Old Boys' Association was won by the school. 100 yards: Eobinson (school). 1; Morris. (old boys), 2; Marsdeu (school), 3. Cricket-matches were also played during the afternoon. Trophies were presented for outstanding performances in cricket, tennis, and shooting by the president of the Old Boys' Association. ' In the evening a very enjoyable dance was held in the college.
