HUTT WINTER TOURNEY
FIRST ROUND LEADERS
With tho course all the better for the heavy rain, without any casual water except in the case of the, first few starters, tho conditions were ideal at the opening of the Hutt winter golf tourney today, but scoros were for the most part high. Entries totalled eighty, from most of the surrounding clubs, including several front-rank players, but many city men were unable to take part in the first qualifying round this morning, and were debarred from participation in the Hutt Winter Cup, though they will play in other competitions this afternoon. Tho leading scores in the first qualifying round at 1.30 p.m. were:—Eana Wagg, 76; M. E. Moore, 78; E. G. Heyward, 80; C. E. White, J. H. Grace, and P. G. Whitcombe, 82; W. G. Fisher and W. J. Davidge, 83; A. T. Clelland, 85; S. J. Hines and W. T. Wilson, SG; K. Jeffery and F. B. Garr, 87; W. C. Wedderspoon, H. Boon, and C. E. Hollis, 88; G. S. MeNaiiy E, T. Poole, C. L.; Bishop, and. A. E. Park, 89.
