(British Official Wireless.) (Beceived- October 19, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, October 18.. In a brief reply to Herr Hitler, M. Daladier, the French. Prime Minister, yesterday stated that, while, the French Government could not remain deaf to any word spoken .to them, they likewise could not remain blind to any a&t performed. Trance must ask therefore why, if a nation desired understanding, its first act .should be one of rupture and why, if its policy was one of respect for engagements, it should not keep engagements into which it had already entered. Similarly, if a nation's pplicy was one of disarmament to the last man and .the last gun, why could it not agree to a plan which had been sincerely and loyally drawn up, and which at any rate went as far as possible, in spite of circumstances, to achieve that end. The French Government, he said, would carefully _ examine the present situation in the light of the new facts by which not only France but her neighbours were affected. . . ;. v
