BIG TENNIS MATCHES

DRAW FOR WELLINGTON

The draw for the matches, in, which the visiting English tennis team, the Aus-. tralian Davis Cup players, and two Wellington representatives will participate in Wellington was announced,today. The matches are to take place at Miramar Tennis Grounds on Saturday, October 28, and two singles and two doubles will be played. In three of these events Wellington players will participate.1 . The first single r/ill -be between F. H. D. Wilde (England) and D. G. France (Wellington). France, who defeated Adrian Quisrt,' the Australian Davis Clip player, at Nelson yesterday, should be in good form. The second single will be between F. J. Perry (England), the American singles champion and first player in the British Davis Cup team, and C. E. Malfroy, New Zealand doubles champion and runner-up in the last New Zealand singles championship, which was won by E. D. Andrews). Malfroy is now graded as first player in New Zealand, so the match will represent a real' trial of strength between the two countries. Following this, two doubles are to be played. In one of these matches, Perry and H. G. N. Lee, both, members; of the British Davis Cup, team this year, will meet Tnrnbull and Quist, the Australian Davis Cup pair, and victors over Vines and Gledhill at Wimbledon this year. Quist was also in the final of the French doubles, partnering McGrath in a win over Borotra and Brugnon, the French Davis Cup doubles representatives, and winners at Wimbledon this season. The second double will be between Turnbull and Qtiist dn'd Malfroy and Fiance. The Wellington pah- have held the New Zealand doubles championship, and are probably the best combination in : the country, so 'that this match also should not be lacking in thrills. :
