VEGETABLE GARDEN.

Attend well to seedling crops, thinning as soon as possible and removing weeds. The soil between the rows should be-'loosened up at frequent intervals. Plant out cabbages, cauliflowers, and onions. Sow peas and beans, also lettuces at intervals to keep up a supply. Earth up and stake peas and beans already through the ground. Earth up potatoes. A sprinkling of superphosphate along the rows before earthing will improve the growth. Keep the strawberry beds free from weeds and well watered during dry weather. A niuleh of clean hay or straw should be put between'the rows to keep the fruit clean. Prepare celery trenches, working in plenty of well rotted manure or garden rubbish. ,
