On account of difficult finance*, Iho City Council was not in a position to make provision for the payment of its further instalment o? £3000 towards the Dominion Museum nnd National Art, Gallery Fund when drawing up the year's estimates, defining to review the matter later in tlje year. Ln6t night, after making his statement qs to the finance!, at tho end of tho half-year, the Mnyor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop) lerommeiuled that a hum of £500 should bo paid over. The council agreed.
