(BritisD Official Wireless.) KUGBY, October 5. The annual eonferenco of tho Conservative Party opened at Birmingham today. Over ISOO delegates from all parts of Britain attended. Chief interest centres in the debate on the Government's Indian policy, which, will take place tomorrow. Although criticisms of tho policy havo been given "wide publicity in' tlio Press during recent weeks, it is generally believed in conference circles that if a division, is forced there will bo a substantial majority in support of tho Government's handling of tho Indian question. Among the resolutions passed by the conference was one urging that efforts should be concentrated on Empire consolidation and development, including emigration and the extension of interImperial trade. • The leader of the party, Mr. Stanley Baldwin, will address the conference tomorrow, and it is understood he will deal with disarmament and other aspects of tho international situation.
