A FARMING VIEW
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Daylight saving is an intolerable nuisance to fanners. As -\ve are the backbone of the country we should have • a little consideration. What with low prices, excessive taxation, and long home, our lot is not an enviable one. With hours from between i and 5 a.m. up till 8 p.m., no Saturday half-holiday, and Sunday off, our work goes on every clay in the week. Sport will not save a'country. If people want more - daylight let them get up at 4 a.m. or 5 a.m. We have to go to bed early, but how can one go to sjeep with the sun shining?—l am, etc.. FARM WORKER. [The case for Summer Time/rests not chiefly on epovt but on economic and health benefits which have been so pronounced1 that the full measure of daylight saving as been adopted in European countries largely dependent on primary industry.—Ed.]
