LADIES' HOCKEY
Representative matches have Tather prolonged the ladies' hockey season this year, but the season officially closes this afternoon with the playing of the annual representative Maori match between Wellington and Wairarapa for the Hunter Cup, at Porirua. As a cur-tain-raiser a match was to have been played between the Wellington and Wairarapa B grade teams. It has been recommended by the Australian ladies' hockey council that when the Australian championships aro held in Melbourne in 1935, invitations bo sent to New Zealand, Vancouver, and Fiji to join in a Pacific tournament. This matter, will no doubt receive the earnest consideration of the New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Association. International matches are to be held in America the following year, and it is the intention of the Australian council to be represented with an all-Australian team. Although it is a lot to expect, it is hoped in some circles that New Zealand will also bo represented, at the tournament.
