SPRING AND SONNY BOY
(Original!*! King, Pluto was pushing up shafts of light out of the deep, deep earth. The flrA little arrow of light waa whiter, and the Sun Fairies coloured it yellow and called it daffodil. Then they broke oft bits of cloud and changed them into fleecy white lambs, who raced, jumped, and bleated all day long. Even Sonny Boy, as he sat in tho garden, thought he would try and talk to tho birds -about Spring, so when a fat, glossy blackbird perched near him ho said, "Are there fairies.in Spring?" And the blackbird replied, '' Tweet Tweet—yes, yes! The Fairy Spring and her maids, Snowdrop, Violet, and Primrose. She calls the flowers after them; and feeds them on dew and honey, as she is very1 fond of them." Just then the blackbird saw his wife frowning at hixn, so ho flcv/ away in a great hurry, leaving Sonny Boy staring at three tall flowers, a Bnowdrop, a violet, and a primrose. They woro nodding their heads at him, agreeing, he supposed, with the blackbird's story- ; "PUNCH (13). . City. ' ■ .
