CANBERRA, October 5. It is understood that the Federal Government docs not' intend to give effect to the suggestion of tho recent Royal Commission on performing rights. Tho Hon. J. G. Latham, AttorneyGeneral, informed a questioner in tho House of Representatives that the Commission's .recommendation.; raised difficult legal and practical questions, consequently the Government was endeavouring to bring about an agreement between tho parties concerned—the Australian Performing Rights Association and the broadcasting, companies and various musical organisations—respecting copyrights.
