THREE-DIVIDEND SYSTEM
The move away from win-and-lilace, which is considered by the executives. of many minor South Island clubs to have lost its initial popularity with the racing public, is to be started by the North Canterbury Racing Club at its meeting on Labour Day, and it will be interesting to observe the result. The system oC three dividends (70, 20, and 10 pet- cent, respectively) in fields of nine or more runners, and of two dividends (75 and 25 per cent, respectively) in fields of f>, 6 S 7, or 8 runners is to" be used.
