It was once the favourite of all favourite beverages, jbut' Germany' has'f or nearly 500 years mourned itsi loss. The discoverer of the longrlost formula, who has become a national hero,'wishing his son to become.a brewer and to have a successful career, set-out'to discover oneway at least which would guarantee the future. The father ransacked the archives of -■ Bernau, the walled city !liear Berlin, where . centuries ago Hussite beer wail brewed by. a secret fornrula. There, on opening a~ packet of fourteenth century records ho found it. Father and son were thereupon compell to work overtime in an effort to satisfy' tho thirst of Berliners for^the long:lost' beer. The amount consumed at the opening ceremonies, was-a striking "testimonial t,o its popu-' larity.
