CHRISTCHURCH VISIT

LORD AND LADY BLEDISLOE

(By Telesrraph.—Fress Association.) CHRISTCHUECH, October 1. Their Excellencies Lord and Lady Bledisloo will conclude their visit to Christchurch today. On Saturday morning they visited, relief depots and tho Women's Auxiliary, also the training centre for unemployed girls. They said,that nowhere in New Zealand was such a wonderful-, spirit shown in dealing with the relief of distress. In the afternoon they attended a reunion of the Canterbury Pilgrims, where Lord Bledisloe paid a tribute to tho vision of the pioneers and its effect on their descendants.

Later their Excellencies went to Lancaster Park to see the Banfurly Shield match between Canterbury, and King Country. In the evening Lord Bledislo? addressed members of tho Toe II movement, and conducted the "ceremony of light." On Sunday their Excellencies attended a jubilee service at St. Barnabas' Church, Fendalton, and Lord Bledisloo read the lessons. In the evening ho and Lady Bledisloe were at the Cathedral, whore he also road the lessons. . y_
