SURPRISE PARTY
Dancing and bridge were provided for the.guests, who paid a surprise visit on Saturday evening to Mr. and Mrs. Gibson Stott, in their new home in Tinakori Road. The party had been arranged by Miss Mac Gilmer, and proved very enjoyable. Vivid orange amaryllis lilies decorated the pastel-walled drawing-room, and on the supper table was a bowl of red and purple anemones. 'rs. Stott wore a diagonally striped frock of cherry and white, and Miss Mac Gilmer was in black chiffon. Those present included Mr. and Mts. H. .T. H. Gilmer, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Brandon, Mr. and Mrs. J. E, F. Vogel, Mr. and Mrs. RuLsell Young, Mrs. Morton Paterson, Mrs. Brian Trolove (Kaikoura), Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Bristed (Christchurch); Misses Marjorie Morice, H3ather Mackenzie, Ailsa Nelson, Helen and Margaret Whyte, Margaret Shand, Penelope Blundell, Betty Sproule (Napier), Betty Herbert, Mary Paterson, Monica Malfroy, Sheila Todd, Cara Johnston, Dinah and Jan Sloman, and Betty Reading; Messrs. D. M. Young, P. Johnston, J. Briated, do B. Brandon, D. G. Webster. C. Todd. R. A. Whyte, B. Blundell, S. G. Wheeler, W. Paterson, P. Moore, T. Orbell, E. D. Blundell, P. Alpers, P. Field, and G. Phillips.
