Directors of Hauraki Mines Consolidated report for the. half-year ended May 31 that, while the company's mining claims were under protection during the half-year, a number of tributers were working by consent of the company in surf ace ings. During the twelve months ended May 31, 1933, these tributers produced gold to the value of £200.' The company's battery was used for treatment of quartz from mine and other small parcels from other locations in the Coromandel district. Much attention had been given by directors to the question of working the company's property as a low grade proposition, and numerous assays made of material taken from various parts of the surface. As a result, the directors had decided to take steps to increase the capital of the company. The balance-sheet shows paid capital £84,884. The debit to profit and loss account stands at £48,386.
