. The Department of Agriculture has re.ireived the following cablegram, dated September 30, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: —
Tallow.—Quiet demand at auction; 1143 tasks offered, of which 279 sold. Spot quotations nominally unchanged. . Hemp.—Manila: Market dull and easier. "X" grade for October-December ship.Tuent sold at £14 15s. Output January <(1 to September 18, bales, against f<Bo,ooo for the same period last, year. Jfitocks in the United Kingdom at August |31, 10,070 bales, against 25,132. Stocks jin, Manila at September 18. 147,000 bales, against 111,500. Sisal: Market quiet. [Closing* sellers No. 1 for October-December 'shipment, £17 ss; No. 2, £10 15s. New Zealand: Market unchanged. Stocks in lLondon at August 31, 75 tons, against 88 same time last year.
