SALUTARY SENTENCES
KIDNAPPING GANGS
WASHINGTON, September 30. What is considered an ' important achievement in the Federal Government's campaign against kidnapping is seen in two convictions secured today in two sensational cases.
Seven defendants, including * ono woman, and a notorious gunman, Harvey Bailey, were convicted and face life imprisonment in connection with tho kidnapping of .Charles . Urschel, a wealthy Oklahoma City petroleum magnate, approximately 75,000 dollars of the 200,000-dollar ransom which was paid also being recovered. Six members of a gang, threo of whom, including one woman, received life imprisonment, were convicted and sentenced in connection with the kidnapping of August Luer, an aged banker, of Edwardsville, Illinois.
