GANGSTER OUTRAGE?
BOOKMAKER MURDERED
SYDNEY, September 29. A mysterious crime was committed early this morning. The body of John Stanilaus Keane, aged 37, a bookmaker, with three bullet wounds iv the head and neck, was found near a pavement at Mascot. , The police are of opinion that Keane was the victim of a gangster outrage. Apparently his murderers "took him for a ride," shot him at close range, as witness the powder marks on. his face, and dumped the body . where it was found. Two shillings. were found in the pockets. The victim lives at Undercliffe, a suburb four miles distant. .-■ _^
