GERMAN SCRAPPING POLICY
A fair amount of employment is now being provided in German shipyards 'by tha nreaking-up ofjyejspls under the GoyeMtment's scrapping scheme. Of the 111-vessels of 403,900 tons gross scheduled .to be , broken'up, 30 of 103,817 tons had been definitely ..sold by March 31 last, and by June 30 a further seven steamers of 28,500 tons had been added to the list. At the end of April, 16 vessels of 54,222 tons gross' had. been completely '.broken up, while 59 of 206,985 tons were lying at the shipyards. Ori most of them, breaking-up was already proceeding.
