PETROL RESELLERS
A SOCIAL FUNCTION
An enjoyable social function was held on Thursday by the petrol resellers of Wellington. Mr. W. M. King, chairman of the Wellington Motor Traders' Association (petrol resellers' section) presided over an excellent attendance, among those present being the following guests: —Messrs. E. G. Martin, E. A. Sevier, R. M. Allan, V. G. Rhind, L. Ashcroft Edwards, T. W. Williams, C. H. Jackman, and R. Armstrong (representing the oil companies), Colonel H. E. Avery (president, New Zealand Motor Trade Association), and J. F. Cousins (secretary, New Zealand Motor Trade Association). Community sing-\ ing, conducted Wy Mr. Owen Pritchard, added to the success of the function, as also did items contributed by Messrs. Will Bishop, Drayton Vcnables, Jack Phillips, and Dalton. ' v The toast of "The Wellington Motor Traders' Association" was proposed by Mr. T. A. Hclson, and responded to by Colonel 11. E. Avery on behalf of Mr. C R. Edmond, president of the Wellington Motor Traders' Association, and who was unfortunately indisposed. The following toasts were also honoured: "The Oil Companies," proposed by Mr. AY. M. King, and replied to by Messrs. E. G. Martin and E. A. Sevier; "The Now Zealand Motor Trade Association," Mr. F. Cordery (Colonel H. E. Avery); "Tho Wellington Motor Traders' Association (petrol section)," Mr. J. F. Cousins (Mr. E. K. Read, a member of tho executive);-."The Artists," Mr. L. Ashcroft Edwards (Mr. Owen Pritchard). A. collection in aid of the Mayor's Relief Fund realised £3 3s.
