FEILDING STOCK SALE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ■'■ FEILDING, September 29.' Trices for store : cattle were - distinctly o-ood at the stock sale, with-a large entry St" over 1500 offered. Farmers operated freely, and the cattle sold will ,be distributed over a wide area. The cattle were in good condition, generally, and the auctioneers had no difficulty in reaching reserves. The market for fat cattle was o-ood; a single entry of prime cow fetched £8 The beast would probably weigh TaOl'b to 9001b. The dairy cattle market shows signs of revival. Fat hoggets and wethers are still at firm rates. Fat maiden ewes reached a new record price ot -275, but general lines of ewes were easier, lacking quality. Store hoggets were m good demand. Prices were:—Prime fat hoggets, 23s Gd to 24s 6d; very good, 20s 3d to 22s Gd; food, 17s to 19s; light, 14s 7d up; prime wethers, 23s 9d to 245: good, 20s 9d to 23s Id; fair, 18s; light sorts, 14s 3d up; prime maiden ewes, extra quality, woolly, 25s and 275; prime woolly, 18s 2d to 19s; medium, 16s 6d to 17s 8d; light, 12s 5d to 13s-sd. Store sheep:, Fwes and lambs, 20s 3d; ewe hoggets, good, 19s to 20s 3d; backward, 10s lOd; m.s. hoggets, good, 12s to 16s 6d; inferior, 9s 9d; wether hoggets, 13s 9d to 17s Gd. Dairy cattle: Single choice heifer, £9: others, close to profit, £6 7s 6d to £5, 17s Gd; late calvers, £2 10s to £4 ss; heifers in milk, £2 2s Od. Fat cattle: Very prime heavy cow, £8; prime cows, £4 17s 6d to £5 17s 6d; good weights. £4 lis to £4 17s Od; lighter sorts, £2 to £4 7s 6d; inferior, 27s 6d up. Fat bullocks, prime, £7 ss; fat heifers, prime, £5 2s; good, £3 12s Gd to £3 16s; light, from 30s; Hereford heifers, £3 16s; Shorthorn heifers, £4 19s; P.A. heifers, £4 15s. Stove cattle: Weaner Jersey heifers, 'good condition. £2 2s to £3; others, 12s-4d to 34s Gd; yearling heifers, Jersey, .£2 lis to £3 lis; other breeds, 31s to £3 lis; empty heifers, good, £2 15s; poor, 26s to 395; yearling P.A. steers, 31s to £2; P.A. steers, three-year and two-year, £3 Is to £4 7s 6d; P.A. heifers, •£2 18s to £i Is; P.A. cows. £2 las to £3 6s; P.A. cows, r.w.b., £3 to £3 6s; P.A. bullocks, £5 5s to '£5 9s; mixed steers. £2 18s; Hereford heifers, £2 12s to £2 19s; Hereford cows, £2 5s to £3 lis; Shorthorn cows, £2 19s; cows, r.w.
