OBITUARY

MRS. H. B. IRVING

LONDON, September 25.

The death is reported of Mrs. H. B, Irving, the actress, who was the original "Trilby." ,

Mrs. Irving, widow of the late H. B. Irving, son of Henry Irving, the famous actor, created tho part of Trilby in George dv Maurier's play of that name. She was the sixth daughter of J. F. Baird, of Bowrnont Hall, Northumberland, and married H. B. Irving in 1896. She left the stage in 1912, and devoted ' herself., to infant welfare work in her later years.
