LABORIOUS LIFE
A glimpse of the. daily laborioni life of Herr Hitler has been given t« the- German public by the man besS able to give it—Dr., Walther Funk,, head of the Press Bureau of the Government, who goes every morning at 10----o'elock to report to the Chancellor (says the "Daily Mail"). "Early in the morning Adolph Hitler goes1 to his desk for- concentrated work," said Dr. Funk. , "Day by day and hour^ by hour : for years past he has schooled himself ,to" give the utmost of his spiritual and intellectual powers to the Germaa re*_ volution and now to the State. Ha has developed into the greatest genius among our contemporaries. From i0 to 11 Herr Hitler confer* with, the State Secretary of the Chan-' cellery and with Dr. Funk, and then: he receives in audience,. unless there is .a ■ meeting of • the Cabinet, until. 2 o'clock.
From 2 till 4 there is supposed to' be a pause for rest, but in fact the Chancellor gets no rest, for there is always a number of guests at luncheon. Among the regular guests 'are' Dr. Goebbels, Minister of Propaganda, and Herr Hanfstangl, who was attached to the German delegation" to the World Economic Conference; '
Leaders of the Nazi Party from tha provinces are often invited,' and tha Chancellor talks to them with keen- in» terest. . Herr Hitler's meal consists ehierry'bf eggs and vegetables, for he eats bo meat and he neither drinks wine" nor smokes. .
