• NO VISIT. TO NELSON
Mr. G.F. Aew presided over last night's meeting of the management committee o£ the Wellington Football Association. The Nelson Football Association wrote stating that it\ could not receive the Wellington team that was to pluy at Nelson on Saturday next, owing to the lateness in the season, but a suggestion was made that a Wellington ,team should'visit Nelson eatly next season. Congratulations were received from tue Auckland Football Association on the success of the Wellington team in the Campbell Hose Bowl match. "It is unanimously agreed," wrote the Auckland Association, '•(hat the better team won and>no excuse is offered for the failure of the Auckland team except that the opportunity was not 1 taken of introducing a number of promising young players, who, according to popular opinion, were deserving of a trial. llt just happened that the players who have served Auckland so well for a number of years, and even ns recently as the Trophy j match against Otago, were overshadowed by young and fast players." Congratulations were also extended on the exemplary conduct of the team and on the popular choice of Mr. Ballard as manager. A financial loss was suffered on the match, due mainly to a heavy shower early in the afternoon. ' . .' The New Zealand Football Association wrote conveying its congratulations and those of the secretary of the _Primary Schools Tournament at Wanganui to the Wellington team and its coaches on the team's fine standard of play. ■ The following championship and cup winners were announced:—Fourth division: Marist won championship and cup. Fifth division: Institute won championship and pup, Sixth; division: Seatoun_ won championship and. cup. Seventh division: Institute won i championship and Marist Thorndon won cup. Eighth division: Seatoun won championship and Marist Newtown A won,cup.- •; -, ; Diamond and N.A.D.A., each with 24 championship points, are to play each other on- Saturday,, week to decide the premiership ■in 'the second B division. -The: following'- fixtures were made for. Saturday Week:—Firßt A division championship: Petone v. Technical Old Boys, North Park, Petone; Swifts v. Waterside, Kilbirnie Stadium.
