KARORI CLUB

Jn moving the adoption of the report and; balance-sheet at the annual meeting of the Karori Lawn Tennis Club, Inc., on Tuesday night, Mr. L. A.-Tracy, chairman of the general committee, congratulated the club on the successful year just closed. Members had exhibited remarkable keenness in all 'the club's tournaments and,! from a financial point of view, the season had also been entirely satisfactory.

The resignation of Mr. B. C. Ashwin, fpr many years an ■ energetic member of the committee, was received with regret.

The recommendation of the retiring committee that life-membership should be conferred on Miss E. L. Hackworth and Mr. A. G. Henderson was unanimously adopted.

After considerable discussion the design recommended by the ■ retiring committee for a club blazer was approved with minor alterations.

It was decided to hold the official opening on October 7, when Hfe:membership medallions will be presented to Miss E. L. Hackworth and Messrs. V. L. Hackworth, P. H. Putnam, and A. G. Henderson. It was unanimously decided to hold a flannel dance on the opening nigkt. The following officers were electro: — President, Mr. B. G. H. Burn; vice-presi-dents, Colonel G. T. Hall, Messrs. E. A. Wright, M.P., B. C. Ashwin, and A. H. Syriionds; hon. secretary, Mr. D. Mclntyre, sen.; hon. treasurer, Mr. G. J. Merrington; club captain, Mr. T. Watchman; hon. auditor, Mr. C. I. Dasent; management- committee, Messrs. W. A. Fraser, V. L. Hackworth, D. Mclntyre, jun.J W. Matson, H. J. Porter, and L. A. Tracy; delegates to the W.L.T. Association,. Messrs. D.' Mclntyre, sen., and G. J; Merrington; women's committee, Mrs. G. J. Merrington, Misses E. L. Hackworth, M. Macfarlane, E. Read, and M. Snow. . "
