PIGS AND POULTRY.

The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Palmerston North, reports a yarding of approximately 300 pigs at their mart sales on Saturday. Most of the pigs were of excellent quality, and the demand was very keen. Prices showed a rising tendency, and all lines were cleared, the following being the realisations:—Weaners, 12s 6d to 16s 9d; slips, to 225; medium stores, 21s to 24s 6d; heavy stores, to 29s 6d; light porkers, up to 23s 6d; large white sows to farrow, 52s to 60s. Realisations for poultry were:—Hens, W.L. 3s to 4s 4d per pair, 8.0. 4s to 5s lOd; ducks, 6s to 6s 6d; cockerels, W.L. 4s to 5s 6d, 8.0. 6s to 8s; turkey gobblers, small, 8s to 8s 6d each.
