A special meeting-.of the Wellington Philosophical Society was held last night to consider a requisition proposing votes of censure on thelast two councils ot the society and the' setting up of several committees to consider various matters concerning the constitution "-and the manager: ment of the society. Dr, J. Henderson. presided over a fair attendance; of, manProceedings were taken in committee.: The votes of censure were negatived when piit to the meeting, but committees were set up to report to the next annual nieeting on'various phases of the society s affairs. '

Herr Hitler has turnod his attention to the wireless trade. It is understood that the Chancellor, after meeting re-, presentativos of the leading manufac-, turing firms, has*declared that 20,000 receivers with built-in moving-coil loudspeakers, shall be - constructed and; placed on the German market, within a limited period, the ,cost of which receiver not to-exceed £3 10s.
