ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
Mr W B. Hicks presided at a meeting of the Wellington Football Association last "'l^Navy match, is to be played at the Stadium at 3 p.m. on September 23, and as a curtain-raiser to this match the nnal of the Victory Cup will be played. The Waterside-Petone match (A division) will be played at North Park, Petone, on September 23. It was decided to send a letter to the Referees' Association requesting referees, when cautioning players to state definitely in ■ their report ( to the association what the caution'is for. Mr. C. Ballard, manager of the Wellington team which defeated Auckland for the Campbell Rose Bowl last Saturday, reported at some length on. the match.
