The sound financial position oi the New Zcalund' Kennel Club was viewed with general satisfaction at the annual meeting, ■which was held last evening in the CKamber of Commerce Hall. The president, Mr. Norman Wade (Auckland), was in the chair, and there was a largo attendance oC delegates. In extending; a weJcomo to the dele-
gates, the Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop) spoke briefly of the important part the organisation was playing in maintaining a high standard of breeding and in controlling the activities of the dog' world generally in the Dominion. There were many people, he said, who desired to own dogs, and who were not fitted for ownership, and in this respect alone the Kennel Club could do valuable work. He hoped' that as a result of the meeting the cause of the dogs would be advanced.; ' Mr. Wade reviewed the activities of the past year, stating that 1550 registrations and transfers had been recorded, as compared with 682 ten years ago.
The executive was congratulated on its; management of the club's finances during a difficult period. *'..'.
A plea was made by the president iW co-operation and harmony which,, he Wid,. were-essential to the success of the organisation.
