WOMEN'S MOVEMENT
A STEP FORWARD
MRS MCCOMBS CONGRATU-
LATED
(By Telegraph.—Tress Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day
Shoals of congratulatory telegrams were received this morning by Mrs. McCombs. Telegrams were reeoived from the Telegraph Department in such large numbers that Mrs. McCombs gave instructions that unless they were more than usually important they should be delivered with the afternoon mail. A few reached her, however. These congratulated her on a wonderful victory. Mrs. McCombs stated that her return marked a step forward in' the women's movement by reason of the fact that women had been more unanimous in their support than ever before. She had had telegrams from all over New Zealand, particularly from women and.women's organisations, wishing her success.
